Julia’s 20-year legal career has focused on affordable housing, with a sub-specialty in low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) transactions. She has closed a diverse portfolio of complex projects including supportive housing developed by non-profit developers, tax-exempt bond and credit projects, HUD projects including 202’s and 811’s, HOPE VI projects, and a range of preservation deals.
Prior to joining FNL, Julia was chief legal officer for the New York Equity Fund and Local Initiatives Support Corporation’s NYC office, where she oversaw NYEF’s closings and worked on development and asset management issues. She previously worked at Nixon Peabody LLP representing investors and syndicators on a range of complex LIHTC transactions in New York City and throughout the United States. Earlier in her career, Julia served as assistant general counsel at the National Equity Fund where she worked as part of a team to structure and close a diverse portfolio of tax credit transactions developed by non-profit developers with a focus on supportive housing projects throughout the northeast.
